It's a day of celebration for family and friends of two Boston-area residents who'd been taken hostage in Egypt.

On Monday, their abductor released Lissa Alphonse, of Everett, and the Rev. Michel Louis, a pastor from Boston's Dorchester neighborhood. Both had been on a church trip, where an Egyptian tour guide was also kidnapped.

WBUR's Delores Handy was in Dorchester when news came that Louis would be coming home.

This program aired on July 17, 2012.
