Kerrigan's Brother Asks To Go Back To Jail

The brother of Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan, who was convicted of assault and battery in connection with the 2010 death of their 70-year-old father, wants to go back to jail.

Mark Kerrigan was released July 27 from jail, where he was serving 2.5 years following his May 2011 conviction.

A Probation Department spokeswoman tells the Boston Herald the 47-year-old Kerrigan is scheduled in court Wednesday when he is expected to ask a judge to return him to jail to serve out the remaining six to eight months of his sentence.

The spokeswoman says Kerrigan is not accused of violating probation, but she says by going back to jail he would be exempt from conditions of early release, including alcohol counseling and anger management classes.

Kerrigan's lawyer could not be reached.
