Boston Police Make Arrest In Fatal Dudley Square Stabbing

Boston Police announced Wednesday that they have made an arrest in connection with a daytime murder in Roxbury's Dudley Square earlier this month.

Police say Jahvon Goodwin, 21, of Boston, stabbed 24-year-old Rashad Lesley-Barnes on Aug. 15 after an argument on an MBTA bus.

Lesley-Barnes was pronounced deceased later that day.

Officer James Kenneally says Boston Police received multiple calls on its tip line after releasing photos of the suspect taken from surveillance cameras near where Lesley-Barnes was attacked.

"In this particular case, as we do with the majority of our cases, we asked the community to step up and help out and in this case they did." Kenneally said. "The community support was impressive."

Police arrested Goodwin Wednesday morning and have charged him with murder. Goodwin is expected to be arraigned at Roxbury District Court Wednesday afternoon.
