Cop Who Shot NY Student Deposed In Civil Suit

A police officer who fatally shot a 20-year-old college football player from Easton, Mass. said he yelled for the car the student was driving to stop, but that it kept coming.

Pleasantville police officer Aaron Hess said in a deposition that he had to lunge on top of the car to avoid being run over, and that he fired into the car to stop the driver.

Hess was cleared by a grand jury in the October 2010 death of Pace University football player Danroy Henry Jr.

His family has filed a civil suit against Hess. The deposition was taken earlier this month as part of that suit and the transcript was released by their attorney on Thursday.

This program aired on August 31, 2012. The audio for this program is not available.
