Glynn Confirmed As New Head Of Massport

The board of the Massachusetts Port Authority has confirmed Thomas Glynn as the new chief executive of the agency that oversees Logan International Airport.

The 66-year-old Glynn is a former general manager of the MBTA and more recently served as chief operating officer of Partner's Health Care, the state's largest network of teaching hospitals.

Glynn's appointment ends a more than year-and-a-half search by Massport for a new CEO after Tom Kinton announced that he planned to retire. Kinton left in June 2011 and David Mackey has been serving as interim head of the agency, which also oversees the Port of Boston, Hanscom Field and Worcester Regional Airport.

Glynn will earn an annual salary of $250,000.

This program aired on September 20, 2012. The audio for this program is not available.
