Boston City Council Passes A New Redistricting Plan

Boston Mayor Thomas Menino will reportedly sign off on a new redistricting plan (PDF) after it won approval from the Boston City Council Wednesday.

That's after 16 months of negotiations and two previous vetoes by the mayor.

Two councilors (of 13) voted against the new plan.

They say it still doesn't go far enough to reflect the city's minority communities.

The City Council redraws Boston's voting districts every 10 years.
