Sandy: How To Help

A collection of resources for how to help those affected by superstorm Sandy:

-- Red Cross

To donate to the Red Cross and help with relief efforts, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), text "redcross" to 90999 for a $10 donation, or you can click here to donate any amount more than $10.

According to the Red Cross, Hurricane Sandy also hit the nation's supply of blood, cancelling over 300 blood drives, or around 9,000 blood and platelet donations. To find a blood drive near you and schedule an appointment, click here.

-- The New York Blood Center

The New York Blood Center is also looking for blood donations. Click here to make an appointment, find your local blood drive, or apply to volunteer.

-- Salvation Army

The Salvation Army, the international Christian charity, is accepting donations as well. Visit your local Salvation Army station or click here to visit their donations page.

-- World Vision

World Vision is also providing aid by giving out food, hygiene and cleanup kits as well as blankets to those affected by the storm. Visit their donations page here to help.

-- AmeriCares

AmeriCares is ready to help out, too, by bringing shelter and medical supplies to those hit hardest by Sandy. Click here to visit their site and make a donation.

Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger relief organization, is offering to provide food, water and other supplies to those in need. Visit their website here to donate or call in a donation by dialing 800-910-5524.

-- Save The Children

Save The Children is providing aid to children and their families who have been hit by the superstorm. You can donate to their efforts by clicking here.

-- The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)
