The New England Patriots are commemorating Veterans' Day this Sunday in an unusual way: with an empty chair.

The Kraft Group is dedicating a permanently unoccupied seat at Gillette Stadium to remember the thousands of American servicemen and women who remain unaccounted for as prisoners of war or missing in action.

The memorial seat is the first of its kind at an NFL stadium and is due in large part to the work of Joe D'Entremont. He's president of the Massachusetts chapter of Rolling Thunder, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about POWs and MIAs.

D'Entremont joined WBUR's Morning Edition to talk about the empty, black seat located above the stadium's south endzone.

This program aired on November 9, 2012.
