Jon Lipsky's Plays: A New Anthology

Jon Lipsky
Playwright Jon Lipsky

The Boston theater community has been getting increasingly better about sustaining a new generation of local playwrights.

Jon Lipsky, who died last year, was something of a godfather to them, so it’s gratifying to see his friends and family trying to put together a compilation of his plays. Boston Playwrights’ Theatre put on a compelling production of his “Walking the Volcano” shortly after he died, reminding us of what a gifted playwright he was.

Here are the details of the Kickstarter campaign from his longtime friend, Arnie Reisman:

We would like to inform you of a fundraising campaign that is currently happening for the forthcoming Anthology of Jon Lipsky's plays. The book is in the final stages of completion, and the editors, Jonah Lipsky and Bill Barclay, have begun a kickstarter campaign that is designed to generate the funding for the project to happen while at the same time giving you the opportunity to pre-order your copy of the book. The kickstarter campaign will run until December 8th, giving you less then a month to donate to this momentous campaign. You can visit the kickstarter campaign here.

This program aired on November 12, 2012. The audio for this program is not available.
