Officials Still Assessing Damage From Springfield Blast

The state fire marshal has concluded that a worker for Columbia Gas of Massachusetts, who was dispatched to investigate reports of gas odor inside a Springfield strip club late Friday, accidentally punctured a high pressure pipeline while searching for the leak.

City leaders in Springfield who have been rebuilding following the tornado that hit the state's third-largest city in June 2011 are still assessing all of the damage from the blast.

Patrick Johnson, reporter for The Springfield Republican, has been covering the story there and joined WBUR's Morning Edition for the latest.
