3-Year-Old Dead In Worcester Car Crash
A Worcester mother police say was behind the wheel of a car that crashed, killing her 3-year-old son, has been held on $50,000 bail.
Christina Castro pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges including motor vehicle homicide in connection with the crash at about 10:15 p.m. Monday.
Police say may have been driving more than 70 miles per hour as she fled the scene of a prior minor accident.
When police arrived at the scene, the 27-year-old Castro was outside her vehicle with her 5-year-old son. Her 7-year-old and 3-year-olds sons were still inside.
Police say the children were not properly restrained.
The boys were taken to a hospital, where 3-year-old Jayden Figueroa was pronounced dead. The oldest son suffered critical injuries. Castro and the 5-year-old boy sustained minor injuries.
