Civil Rights Lawyer On Miranda Rights And Tsarnaev

The surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, has not been read his Miranda rights, which would inform him of his right to an attorney and to not to self incriminate. Officials are invoking a public safety exception.

Harvey Silverglate, Boston defense attorney and prominent civil rights lawyer, joined WBUR's Morning Edition  to offer his perspective.
