Boston Teen Safe After Alleged Abduction By Father

Police say a 13-year-old boy is safe after being abducted by his own father, but the father remains on the loose and may be armed.

Police say 37-year-old Jonathan Moore Sr. forced his way into a home in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and got into a violent confrontation with the residents before leaving with the boy.

Police say Moore claimed to have a handgun and threatened to use it. One resident of the home was hurt during the confrontation.

Police issued an Amber Alert.

The boy was found unharmed about an hour later in Cambridge and the alert was deactivated.

But Moore remains on the loose and is believed to be with his girlfriend, Ashley Smith.
