Waltham Police Chief Convicted Of Assaulting Wife

A district court jury has found Waltham Police Chief Thomas LaCroix guilty of twice assaulting his wife at the couple's Maynard home.

LaCroix faces up to 2 years in prison for each incident at his sentencing July 10.

He didn't comment when reached by The Boston Globe on Wednesday. His attorney said he may appeal.

The Concord District Court jury convicted LaCroix of throwing his wife in the couple's garage during one incident and giving her a bloody, swollen lip in another.

The conviction comes after his wife, Andrea LaCroix, testified her husband never attacked her. But a friend testified that Andrea LaCroix showed up at her house shaking and with a bloody lip saying her husband beat her up.

LaCroix has been on paid leave since he was arrested by Maynard police last June.
