Ex-FBI Agent To Be Back On Stand At Bulger Trial

A former FBI agent returns to the witness stand in Boston after testifying that one of James "Whitey" Bulger's alleged murder victims predicted his own death.

Gerald Montanari testified Monday that Edward "Brian" Halloran told him Bulger and his partner, Stephen "The Rifleman" Flemmi, would "go to any extreme," including killing him, if he found out that Halloran had been cooperating with the FBI against him.

Prosecutors say Halloran was killed by Bulger in 1982 after Bulger learned he was talking to the FBI.

The 83-year-old Bulger is accused of playing a role in 19 killings in the 1970s and `80s. He has pleaded not guilty and has denied the prosecution's claim that he was a longtime FBI informant.

Montanari is to be cross-examined by Bulger's lawyers Tuesday.
