Two unrelated homicides within 18 hours have put Brockton residents on edge.

Tuesday night, 74-year-old Lee Harmon was beaten to death on Clinton Street. Police are still searching for a suspect. And Wednesday morning, a man in his 40s was fatally stabbed on Bellevue Avenue. The suspect in that killing was shot after a confrontation with police in Abington and is being treated at a hospital.

Chazy Dowaliby, editor of the Brockton Enterprise, joined WBUR's Morning Edition to discuss the ramifications.

This program aired on August 22, 2013.
