It's The Registration Deadline For Boston's Preliminary Election

Wednesday is the deadline to register to vote in Boston's preliminary election.

The preliminary election, for mayor and city council seats, takes place Tuesday, Sept. 24.

The preliminary mayoral election will winnow the field of 12 candidates down to two.

Geraldine Cuddyer, chairwoman of the Boston Board of Election Commissioners, told State House News Service late last week that her office has not yet seen much of an increase in registrations since the mayoral race has been in full swing.

"There has not been an uptick we have seen," Cuddyer told SHNS.

The final municipal election takes place Nov. 5.
