Ethics Committee Dismisses Potential Case Against Rep. Tierney

The House Ethics Committee voted unanimously Wednesday to dismiss a potential case against Massachusetts U.S. Rep. John Tierney.

Questions have swirled around the Democrat's knowledge of an illegal offshore gambling operation run by his brothers-in-law and money his wife obtained from her brother.

Tierney’s wife, Patrice, served a one-month prison sentence for helping a brother file false tax returns.

In a statement Wednesday evening, Tierney said: "After three years of politically motivated, partisan attacks on this issue, I look forward to putting it behind me. The focus belongs on the residents of the 6th District."

This program aired on September 11, 2013. The audio for this program is not available.
