State Rep. Marty Walsh came out on top in Tuesday's preliminary election for mayor of Boston, followed closely by Boston City Councilor John Connolly. They beat 10 other candidates to advance to the general election on Nov. 5.

After a rush to the preliminary, there's little time for the candidates to rest. Walsh was already out campaigning Wednesday morning, greeting voters at the Savin Hill MBTA station. He joined WBUR's Morning Edition to discuss the next steps for his campaign.

This program aired on September 25, 2013.
