MBTA To Wait For Final Out Of World Series Home Games

As Red Sox Nation prepares for late nights watching the World Series, the MBTA is readying its conductors to bring fans home from the ballpark, no matter when the final outs are recorded at Fenway.

T spokesman Joe Pesaturo wrote in an email to the News Service “fans who take the subway to Fenway will be able to take it after the final out, regardless of when the game ends.”

The Red Sox are playing the St. Louis Cardinals, with home games set for Wednesday and Thursday of this week and potentially next week — depending on how long the series goes.

Pesaturo said the potential early-morning service would not be limited to the Green Line, which stops in the Kenmore Square and Fenway, but would apply to “all subway lines.”

“MBTA personnel will closely monitor ridership, and dispatch trains accordingly,” he said.
