The former speaker will join Clark at a town hall forum at Cambridge College on Friday to discuss Pelosi's agenda aimed at helping women gain a strong foothold in the economy.

The event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at the college.

Clark, a state senator from Melrose, is facing off against Republican Frank Addivinola, a Boston attorney, in the Dec. 10 special election to fill the 5th District U.S. House seat left vacant by Edward Markey's election to the Senate earlier this year.

Clark defeated four other Democratic hopefuls while Addivinola eclipsed two other Republican candidates in the primaries.

That contest played out amid voter frustration over the federal government's partial shutdown.
