3rd Arrest Made In Fatal South Boston Stabbing

Police have arrested a third person they allege took part in fatal attack on a Boston street last weekend.

Gabriel Sanchez is expected to be arraigned Thursday on a murder charge in connection with the death of Edwin Santos. It was not clear if he had a lawyer.

Prosecutors say Sanchez is the brother and uncle of the other alleged assailants.

Forty-three-year-old Elias Sanchez and 16-year-old Angel Sanchez are being held without bail after pleading not guilty to charges in connection with Santos' death.

Authorities say Santos was stabbed and beaten at about 5 p.m. Sunday in front of a South Boston store. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The suspects and the victim were "well-known to each other," but the exact motive for the attack remains under investigation.
