Lunenburg Police: Team Not Tied To Racist Graffiti

Lunenburg police say they haven't found any conclusive evidence connecting anyone on the high school football team with racist graffiti spray-painted on a young player's home last month.

The statement Monday said the finding is related only to that incident and has nothing to do with any other football game-related issues the school district is investigating. Police said they are continuing to investigate the graffiti and are looking at other possible suspects.

Lunenburg school officials forfeited the rest of the team's games after the graffiti incident, and said they were investigating alleged racist slurs by Lunenburg players to Worcester South High football players earlier this season.

The graffiti including the N-word was found Nov. 15 on the home of a 13-year-old player whose father is black and mother is white. He now attends a different school.
