Forecast: Dry Weather Will Last Until Sunday

Dry and seasonable weather will take us into the weekend as temperatures moderate to the 40s both Saturday and Sunday. There is no chance of rain or snow Saturday, and there will be a blend of clouds and sunshine. The dry weather will continue into Sunday, but there is a risk for rain by the end of the day.

There's no major snow in sight, but the cold will be notable for New Year's Eve. Since there will not be any snow cover in Boston, getting around for First Night will be easy, but you will need to bundle up. By the time we ring in the New Year, many areas will have temperatures falling towards or just below 10 degrees.

High pressure is going to keep any storms from affecting the area through most of the weekend. A nor'easter will hug the coast late Sunday and early Monday, but without any cold air in place, rain, not snow is in the forecast.

The storm will bring gusty winds Sunday night and early Monday. Winds likely won't be strong enough to cause power issues. As the storm pulls away Monday, much colder air will filter into the region. By Tuesday morning, a hard freeze will take place and the subfreezing weather is going to last for many days.
