Feds Arrest Man, Seek 2nd In Postal Worker Assault

A Boston man has been arrested and second is sought in the attempted robbery, assault and kidnapping of a U.S. Postal Service carrier delivering packages before Christmas.

The U.S. Attorney's office said 23-year-old Maurice Williams Miner-Gittens was arrested Wednesday, and authorities are seeking 21-year-old Keyon Taylor.

Gittens and Taylor are charged with conspiracy to rob, attempted robbery and kidnapping of a federal employee Dec. 20. Federal authorities have offered a $50,000 reward for Taylor.

Prosecutors said Taylor threatened the postal worker with a pistol, ordered him to take off his uniform and lie face down and tried to drive the truck away. The worker, who escaped, was shot in the wrist, kicked and beaten. They said Gittens rented and drove a van also used in the attempted robbery.

It's not immediately known if Gittens has an attorney.
