2nd Man Charged With Shooting Boston Postal Worker

A second man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a U.S. postal worker in Boston last month.

Keyon Taylor, 21, was arrested early Monday by Boston police and postal police and was being held pending a bail hearing scheduled for Friday. Maurice Williams Miner-Gittens, 23, was arrested last week. He was being held pending a hearing scheduled for Feb. 4.

They are charged with kidnapping a federal employee, assault on a federal employee and conspiracy. It's unclear if they have lawyers.

The two men jumped the postal worker as he was delivering Christmas packages on Dec. 20 in the city's Dorchester neighborhood, authorities said.

The victim was assaulted, shot in the wrist and told to remove his clothes and lie down in his delivery truck. He jumped from his vehicle as the suspects drove it away.

Taylor, suspected of the driving the truck, abandoned it a short time later and took off on foot, leaving a trail of blood that led to the postal worker's cellphone and keys, police said.

The postal worker's blood was found on the outside of a van that Miner-Gittens had rented and was used during the robbery, police said.
