Lunenburg Racist Graffiti Case Closed

An investigation into racist graffiti spray-painted on a Lunenburg family's home has ended without anyone being criminally charged.

Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. said Wednesday that the "evidence presented to us fails to demonstrate beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime has been committed."

In November, someone painted racist graffiti including the N-word on the home of Isaac Phillips, who played on Lunenburg High School's freshman and junior varsity football teams. Isaac's father is black and his mother is white.

The graffiti led to widespread condemnation and roiled the community. The family initially pointed to Isaac's football teammates, which led school officials to prematurely end the team's season.

The investigation later focused on Isaac's mother, Andrea Brazier. She refused comment when contacted by The Sentinel & Enterprise.
