Forecast: Cold Returns, Snow Later This Week

It will feel like January for the next seven days with temperatures averaging well below late February and early March levels.

There are two chances of snow this week. The first comes Wednesday and the second sometime over the weekend. We will have a better idea in the coming days of whether either, neither or both of these systems bring snow to the region.

Temperatures will be coldest Thursday through Sunday, when many areas will see morning readings back into a single digit and afternoon highs in the 20s. The only consolation is that we are rapidly gaining nearly three minutes of daylight each day, and the strength of the sun will help offset the cold.

Weather will not impact any commutes except for the possible snow on Wednesday.

Monday: Blustery and cold with a blend of clouds and sunshine. Highs in the lower to mid 30s.

Monday night: Partly cloudy and breezy. Lows in the teens.

Tuesday: Sunny in the morning, then clouding up. Some light snow possible late at night. Highs of 25 to 32.

Wednesday: Any morning snow ends. Clearing and cold. Highs in the mid 20s.

Thursday and Friday: Cold and dry.
