Ex-Boston Police Commissioner Joins TV Station

Former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis has joined a Boston TV station as a security analyst.

WBZ-TV management said Tuesday that Davis will contribute expert analysis to its local coverage of legal issues, trials and law enforcement news.

Davis was Boston's police commissioner for seven years and led the department during the investigation of last year's Boston Marathon bombing. He left the job in November and is currently a fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

WBZ, a CBS affiliate, said Davis plans to provide analysis during the trials of marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez.

Davis began his career in 1978 as a patrol officer with the Lowell Police Department.
