Patrick: Can't Second Guess Todashev Shooting Probe

Gov. Deval Patrick says he's in no position to second guess an investigation clearing an FBI agent of criminal charges in the fatal shooting last year of a friend of one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects.

The Florida State Attorney's office said Ibragim Todashev flipped a coffee table at an FBI agent and charged a Massachusetts State Police trooper with a pole before the agent shot him.

Federal authorities have said in court filings that Todashev implicated bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev in a 2011 Waltham triple murder.

Patrick said Wednesday he knows some people have questioned whether a more aggressive investigation into the Waltham killings might have led police to Tsarnaev before the Marathon bombing.

Patrick said probably many in law enforcement have asked themselves the same questions, but they're impossible to answer.
