Forecast: Highs Will Approach 60

A pair of great days is on the way with wall-to-wall sunshine. A cold wind ushered in cooler and drier air overnight, but the wind has now diminished and highs will be in the seasonable 50s this afternoon. High pressure remains in control overnight with a frosty sunrise on Thursday. While the weather has clearly turned to spring, we can still expect frosty mornings for a bit longer.

Thursday is a stellar day, although there will be a breeze in the afternoon. Highs tomorrow will approach 60, and like today there won’t be any clouds.

A front approaches the region for Friday. I am not forecasting any rain for much of the daytime Friday. It will be mild, with readings in the lower 60s after 1 p.m. If there is sunshine in the morning, it will fade behind thickening clouds and eventually a line of showers will move through the area. I expect most of the shower activity to be later at night, so evening plans could end up dry. More on this tomorrow.

The front will push offshore Saturday. A lingering morning shower could occur, especially over eastern areas, but clearing will ensue, and I expect the balance of the afternoon to be nice.

Sunday is sunny and mild once again, but some clouds may increase late in the day from our next weather system. The upper air flow is moving quite quickly right now, so you can expect weather systems to cross the region every few days. Another system may bring more April showers early next week.

Wednesday: Sunny and seasonable. Highs in the middle 50s.

Wednesday night: Clear and chilly. Lows of 32 to 36.

Thursday: More sunshine and milder. Highs of 55 to 60. Winds will be brisk in the afternoon.

Friday: Lots of clouds with a few sunny breaks. Highs in the lower 60s. A few showers toward evening.

Friday night: Mild with a period of overnight showers. Lows in the 40s.

Saturday: Any morning showers end and then clearing. Highs in the mid to upper 50s.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a high of 61 to 66.
