Forecast: Sunny And Chilly Today

Cold, high pressure from Canada is centered over New England today and is bringing a bright but chilly morning to the region. Temperatures are in the 20s in many spots with Boston sitting at 32 for the past several hours. Although there will be an abundance of sunshine today, the cold east wind off the water will keep readings in the lower 40s throughout the afternoon.

Another chilly night tonight leads into a similar day for Friday. Temperatures will be about 3 to 5 degrees milder and there will be a few more clouds tomorrow.

Overall, the weekend looks good with Easter Sunday being the better of the two days, but Saturday isn’t looking that bad either. On Saturday, the first part of the morning will feature more in the way of clouds and there might be a quick shower. The trend will be for increasingly sunny skies. In spite of the clouds, temperatures will return to the 50s and, after our chilly weather this week, will feel very nice.

Sunday features mainly sunshine and highs in the 50s. On Easter Sunday the sun will rise just before 6 a.m. On Patriots' Day temperatures will become mild in the afternoon with readings reaching the 60s. The start of the race will see temperatures in the 45 to 50 degree range.

Thursday: Sunny and chilly. Highs of 42 to 46 along the coast and 46 to 50 inland.

Friday: Mostly sunny and still chilly along the coast. Highs in the 40s at the coast and lower 50s inland.

Saturday: A blend of clouds and sunshine. There is a slight chance of a midday shower. Highs in the 50s.

Sunday: Partly sunny with highs in the mid 50s.

Monday: Partly to mostly sunny with a high around 65, Temperatures at 7 a.m. in Hopkinton will be about 40.
