The weather for Mother’s Day looks nearly perfect, but we have two not-so-perfect days before we get there. Friday is going to be a much cooler day with highs in the upper 50s to near 60 in most areas. A warm front to our south is generating some rain, but most of this rain will stay to our west. Although there are showers possible Friday, most of the day is dry.
Showers continue in the forecast overnight as the warm front pushes north of the region. This will usher in some warm and more humid air for Saturday, when highs will reach the 70s. Throughout the day Saturday, expect a lot of clouds, the chance of morning and late day showers with some sunny breaks in between.
As a cold front moves through overnight Saturday it brings a chance of showers, but also pushes the clouds out to sea. This means Sunday, Mother’s Day, will be nearly perfect with mostly sunny skies and very mild temperatures. Highs will be in the 70s.
Monday is the warmest day of the next several, and some spots will likely hit 80 for a few hours between 1 and 4 p.m. Clouds and cooler weather return for Tuesday.
Friday : Cloudy and cooler. A shower is possible, but most of the day is dry. Highs in the upper 50s to near 60.
Friday night: Clouds and a few showers. Lows in the lower 50s.
Saturday: Breezy and mild. Clouds dominate, but with some sunny breaks. A few showers mostly during the first half of the day. Highs in the mid 70s.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with highs in the mid 70s.
Monday: Warm with a blend of clouds and sunshine. An afternoon shower or thunderstorm possible. Highs near 80, cooler on the Cape and Islands.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, some sun and a shower. Highs near 70.
