MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said Monday police obtained a complaint charging the driver with obstruction of justice, and she also has been cited on charges of operating to endanger, speeding and impeded operation.

Pesaturo said the 42-year-old woman has been with the MBTA for 17 years. She is due in court May 27. Her name wasn't released.

Police said the bus went over a sidewalk and through the guardrail and safety fencing. State police said it was secured by firefighters and wasn't in danger of falling. Seven passengers and the driver were taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
