A spokeswoman for the Registry says 42-year-old Shanna Shaw's personal and commercial driver's licenses have been suspended at the request of Newton police, because she's considered an "immediate threat" to public safety.

Authorities say the 18-year MBTA veteran crashed in Newton last Sunday morning. She and seven passengers were hurt.

Shaw told investigators she had a sneezing fit which caused her to lose control. Authorities say she was holding a cellphone.

She's scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on a charge of obstruction of justice. She was also cited for operating to endanger, speeding and impeded operation.
