Burst Pipe Leads To Evacuation Of Boston Hospital

Update: Patients evacuated from Spaulding Skilled Nursing Center in the city's West Roxbury neighborhood have been allowed back into the building, following their forced removal after a pipe burst.

More than 50 patients at a Boston rehabilitation hospital have been evacuated after a water pipe burst in the facility.

There were no reports of injuries.

The pipe burst in the basement of the Spaulding Skilled Nursing Center in the city's West Roxbury neighborhood Friday morning. The basement filled with about two inches of water.

Spaulding President David Storto says 56 patients were moved by ambulance to other facilities because water to the building was shut off.

He says it's unclear how long it will be before they can be moved back to the West Roxbury facility.
