4 Firefighters Hospitalized In Lawrence Fire, Hazmat Situation

Four firefighters have been hospitalized and at least eight residents have been evacuated in Lawrence due to a fire at a metal factory that caused a hazmat situation.

New England Cable Network reports that the residents were evacuated from their homes after the fire that early Sunday morning.

The fire, which occurred at the building housing a metal plating company, was upgraded, requiring more personnel to fight the fire.

Firefighters were still on the scene at 6:30 a.m. Sunday.
