1 Man Arrested After 2 Men Shot At Danvers Hotel

A Wisconsin man has pleaded not guilty to charges including assault with intent to murder after two men were wounded in a late night shooting at a Massachusetts hotel.

The shooting at the Knights Inn in Danvers was reported at about 11 p.m. Wednesday and drew the response of a SWAT team.

The Essex County district attorney's office said 27-year-old Jonathan Alequin of La Crosse was arraigned Thursday and held without bail until a hearing Sept. 19.

Prosecutors said Alequin met the men, who also were staying at the hotel, earlier in the evening. He told police the men threatened him.

Prosecutors said the victims, 35- and 49-year-old men from Tennessee, were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening wounds.

Hotel management had told guests to lie on the floor during the incident to avoid getting shot.
