Cyclist Dies After Getting Hit By Truck In Wrentham

Wrentham police say it appears a 48-year-old man killed in a bicycle accident turned in front of an oncoming dump truck when he was struck and fatally injured.

Police are still investigating the accident that happened Saturday afternoon on West Street, but say Scott Fleming of Wrentham apparently was responsible because he took a left turn on his bike in front of the truck and it didn't have time to stop.

The dump truck then veered and hit a utility pole and tree, but the driver wasn't hurt. Police say the truck wasn't speeding, and the driver wasn't charged.

Police are investigating the possibility that Fleming had trouble seeing because of glare from the sun.
