Apology Follows Threat To Hundreds At Harvard

Hundreds of students and other people affiliated with Harvard University who got an email containing death threats have received a second message with an apology that apparently came from the same email account.

The author of the second email that went out Saturday apologized and told recipients that the threatening email sent Friday was written by her younger brother and he didn't mean it. She insisted she isn't a killer.

Friday's message threatened a mass shooting at Harvard on Saturday and appeared to target Asian Americans. Harvard police tightened security around campus, a campus safety advisory was issued and a public event about the experiences of Asian Americans at Harvard was postponed.

Campus police believe the messages came from the same overseas email account. Authorities continue to investigate the messages.
