Lowell Man Convicted Of Child Rape

A Lowell man convicted of child rape faces up to life in prison when he is sentenced.

David Homen is scheduled to be sentenced Monday in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn following his conviction last week on two counts of rape of a child by force and two counts of indecent assault and battery of a child under 14. His trial lasted five days.

Prosecutors say the 49-year-old Homen abused the girl for two years starting in 2000 when she was 11 years old.

Homen lived in the same home as the victim's family at the time.

Police started investigating when the victim reported the assaults to a friend and to her mother.
