Nonstop Service Between Boston, Tel Aviv To Begin Summer 2015

Israeli airline company El Al plans to begin nonstop service between Boston and Tel Aviv in the summer of 2015.

Gov. Deval Patrick held a press conference at the State House Monday afternoon to announce the planned service between Logan Airport and Ben Gurion International Airport.

The Patrick administration estimates that more than 200 companies and organizations in Massachusetts and New England travel extensively to and from Israel, and Boston is the fourth largest U.S.-Tel Aviv origin-destination market without non-stop service, behind San Francisco, Chicago and Miami.

Subject to the approval of El Al's board, the company plans to use the Boeing 767-300ER aircraft three times a week on the route, with 218 seats that include 22 business class seats.
