Gov. Patrick: I Wanted Indictment In Ferguson

Gov. Deval Patrick says he wanted to see an indictment in the shooting that killed Michael Brown, an unarmed black 18-year-old in Ferguson, Missouri.

A jury declined to indict Ferguson police Officer Darren Wilson following the Aug. 9 confrontation.

Patrick told NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday that the transparency of a trial would be good because so many people assume police officers are "not going to have to answer for the shooting of unarmed, young black teenagers."

Patrick pointed to what he said was "the anxiety so many black people have about encounters with law enforcement, the anxiety that some in law enforcement have about their encounters with black people, and the startling lack of understanding between the two."

Patrick also acknowledged he's thought about running for president but "can't get ready for 2016."
