High School Student Struck By Pickup In Methuen

Police have found the pickup truck they believe struck and injured a Methuen teenager and are now looking for the man who may have been driving it.

Chief Joseph Solomon says the boy was struck at about 6:30 a.m. Monday as he was about to board a school bus.

He was struck in a crosswalk by a pickup that ignored the bus' flashing lights and stop sign.

The truck fled, but was located in a parking lot about a five-minute drive away. It had front-end damage.

Solomon says police are looking for a 28-year-old Lowell man described as a "person of interest." The pickup belongs to the man's father.

The student's name was not released but authorities described him as a 15-year-old boy. He was flown to a Boston hospital for surgery.
