Brothers Plead Not Guilty After Allegedly Attacking Two Police Officers

This article is more than 8 years old.

Two brothers have pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges after allegedly attacking two Boston police officers in a Roxbury apartment complex.

Nineteen-year-old Woobenson Morisset and 18-year-old Lorcen Morisset entered the not guilty pleas Tuesday to charges of assault and battery on a public employee. Woobenson Morisset was released on $500 bail; Lorcen Morisset was released on his own recognizance.

Five other teenagers, who were not named, were arraigned earlier in juvenile court on resisting arrest and other delinquency charges.

Police say the teens attacked the two officers Monday when they tried to serve an arrest warrant to Woobenson Morisset. The two officers were treated at a hospital and released.

Mayor Martin Walsh says he doesn't believe the assault has anything to do with rising national tensions over police conduct.
