Jurors Begin Deliberations In Boston New Year's Party Stabbing Case

Jurors in the trial of two people charged in connection with the stabbing death of a Cape Cod man at a New Year's party in Boston two years ago are entering their first full day of deliberations.

The Suffolk Superior Court jury will weigh the fate of Brian MacDonald and Bianca Hollenbeck on Friday.

MacDonald is charged with second-degree murder for allegedly stabbing 21-year-old Anthony Spaulding in the early morning hours of Jan. 1, 2013.

Hollenbeck is charged with assaulting Spaulding prior to his death.

Authorities say MacDonald and Spaulding got into a dispute after Spaulding asked revelers at his apartment to quiet down. MacDonald was a party guest. Spaulding grew up in Harwich and was attending college in Boston.

Defense lawyers have called it a case of self-defense.
