Meredith Vieira To Give Commencement Address At BU

Journalist and television host Meredith Vieira will deliver the commencement address at Boston University's 142nd graduation ceremonies on May 17.

Vieira will speak before more than 6,600 graduates and receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters.

Vieira is a 14-time Emmy Award winner and the host and executive producer of The Meredith Vieira Show, a nationally syndicated daytime show. She previously co-hosted the Today show on NBC for seven years.

Cornell William Brooks, president and chief executive officer of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, will deliver the Commencement Day baccalaureate address the same day. He will receive an honorary Doctor of Laws.
