The Jim Kweskin Jug Band — the preeminent jug band of the 1960s — takes the stage at Club Passim this weekend.
Back in the early '60s, before he had a band, Kweskin was performing at Club 47 — Club Passim's earlier incarnation on Mt Auburn Street — when he was offered a record contract. He accepted and scrambled to form a band.
Now this weekend, two of those early band members — Geoff Muldaur and Maria Muldaur — will take the stage with him at Club Passim to play some of that good old jug band music. The three joined WBUR's All Things Considered to discuss the beginning of the band 52 years ago.
