3 Waltham Teens Plead Guilty In Beating Death Of Man

Three teenagers from Waltham have pleaded guilty to beating a man in the woods last year and leaving him to die.

The Boston Globe reports a judge Wednesday committed them to youth detention facilities until they turn 21, followed by 10 years of probation.

Middlesex County prosecutors said the two 16-year-old boys and a 17-year-old youth hit 34-year-old Thierry Tullus in the head with a rock, beat him, then robbed him and stole items from his vehicle on Aug. 18, 2014.

Authorities said Tullus drove with the teenagers to the Overland Road area in Waltham. The four walked to a wooded area where the teens beat Tullus.

Tullus was found dead in his car two days after the assault.

One of the teen's lawyers says the sentence was "very just."
