State Police Investigating SWAT Raid At Worcester Home

Massachusetts State Police have are investigating a no-knock SWAT raid that a Worcester family says was a mistake.

The Telegram & Gazette reports state police spokesman David Procopio said Monday there will be a wide-ranging review.

Twenty-three-year-old Marianne Diaz said she awoke Aug. 18 to state police detectives and a SWAT team breaking down her door. She says a female officer later frisked her even though she was naked. Diaz's fiancé said he suffered a minor back injury during the raid.

A state trooper who had the warrant said in an affidavit he was led to believe the target of the raid was inside the apartment with two guns.

Procopio says authorities will investigate the raid and the circumstances leading up to the acquisition of the warrant.
